چکیده
Escherichia coli carrying R factor was reported by Umezawaet al.l\ and Takasawa et al.2) to produce an enzyme adenylylating streptomycin, and E. colt carrying another R factor was reported by Ozanne et al.3) to produce an enzyme phosphorylating streptomycin. Though a resistant Pseudomonas was also observed by Doi et al.^ to produce an enzymeinactivating streptomycin in the presence of both ATPand Mg++, the structure of the inactivated streptomycin produced by the enzyme of this organism was not studied. We have found5) Pseudomonas aeruginosa TI-13 (isolated from a patient) to contain a soluble enzyme fraction which inactivates both streptomycin and dihydro-

Biochemical and computational study of an alginate lyase produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain S21
Objective(s): Alginates play a key role in mucoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa colonization, biofilm formation, and driving out of cationic antibiotics. P. aeruginosa alginate lyase (AlgL) is a periplasmic enzyme that is necessary for alginate synthesis and secretion. It also has a role in depolymerization of alginates. Using AlgLs in cystic fibrosis patients along with anti...
متن کاملCells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Ten strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were disrupted and centrifuged. The supernatant fluids from centrifugation at 105,000 X g contained enzymes inactivating kanamycin, neomycin, and streptomycin in the presence of adenosine triphosphate. Kanamycin-inactivating enzyme was precipitated with ammonium sulfate at 66% of saturated concentration, and the inactivated kanamycin was shown to be kanamyc...
متن کاملDetection of Neuraminidase Activity in Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1
Objective(s) Some properties of neuraminidase produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 growth in a defined medium (BHI) were examined and evaluated for its features. Materials and Methods The obtained supernatant enzyme of P. aeruginosa PAO1 cultures was used in a sensitive fluorometric assay by using 2'-(4-methylumbelliferyl) a-D-N acetylneuraminic acid as substrate. As hydrolyzing MUN with ...

متن کاملPurification and Characterization of Alginate Lyase from Mucoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa Strain 214
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen that causes a variety of infections in compromised patients. The ability of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to produce chronic infection is based in part on its ability to biosynthesis of biofilm, and alginate is the major polysaccharide in the synthesized biofilm. So alginate degradation is very essential in the dispersion of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bi...
